Le programme Impliquer l'Afrique est une initiative qui vise \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la pr\u00e9sence et l'utilisation des langues africaines disposant de peu de ressources, comme le gh\u0254m\u00e1l\u00e1 et les autres langues camerounaises, dans les domaines du traitement du langage naturel et de l'apprentissage automatique. Ce programme est con\u00e7u autour de trois projets cl\u00e9s (projet Afficher l'Afrique<\/strong>, projet Adopter l'Afrique <\/strong>et projet Inclure l'Afrique<\/strong>), chacun avec une orientation et un ensemble d'objectifs propre. Nous travaillons pr\u00e9sentement sur la premi\u00e8re version du projet Afficher l'Afrique.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Le projet Afficher l'Afrique est pr\u00e9sentement en cours pour le <\/span>gh\u0254m\u00e1l\u00e1 et d'autres <\/span>langues camerounaises,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>et comprend trois activit\u00e9s principales :<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cr\u00e9ation d'un corpus<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Objectif : compiler une base de donn\u00e9es compl\u00e8te comprenant du contenu audio et textuel. Ce corpus est essentiel pour comprendre, pr\u00e9server et promouvoir les subtilit\u00e9s et la variabilit\u00e9 des langues. C'est la premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape avant toutes les autres activit\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Activit\u00e9s : collecte, num\u00e9risation et validation des textes \u00e9crits et des enregistrements audio<\/span>, et la transcription des traditions orales publiques. Cela implique de collaborer avec les collectivit\u00e9s, les linguistes et les expertes et experts en culture pour s'assurer que le corpus est repr\u00e9sentatif, complet et pr\u00e9cis.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Conception d'outils langagiers utilisant l'IA<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Objectif : en partant du corpus ainsi cr\u00e9\u00e9, cr\u00e9er des outils utilisant l'IA. Ces outils sont con\u00e7us pour \u00eatre conviviaux et accessibles afin de promouvoir l'utilisation <\/span>des langues<\/span>\u00a0sur les espaces num\u00e9riques.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Activit\u00e9s : d\u00e9velopper un assistant virtuel pour les t\u00e2ches langagi\u00e8res interactives, la traduction instantan\u00e9e et les syst\u00e8mes de reconnaissance de la parole et les technologies de texte-parole. Ces outils sont con\u00e7us pour les locutrices natives et locuteurs natifs, et pour les personnes qui souhaitent apprendre ou utiliser ces langues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cr\u00e9ation d'un mod\u00e8le de traduction automatique <\/strong><\/span>Building<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Objectif : d\u00e9velopper un mod\u00e8le de traduction automatique. Ce mod\u00e8le vise \u00e0 fournir des traductions exactes et sensibles aux questions culturelles afin de combler les lacunes entre les langues pauvres en ressources et toutes les autres.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 Activit\u00e9s : utiliser le corpus pour former les algorithmes d'IA afin qu'ils puissent traiter les nuances et les subtilit\u00e9s contextuelles des langues. Le d\u00e9veloppement implique \u00e9galement des tests et une am\u00e9lioration continus pour am\u00e9liorer la pr\u00e9cision.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chacune de ces t\u00e2ches est intimement li\u00e9e : le corpus sert d'\u00e9l\u00e9ment de base qui propulse le d\u00e9veloppement d'outils utilisant l'IA et le <\/span>mod\u00e8le de traduction automatique<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Le programme Engager l'Afrique engage une collaboration avec des intervenantes et intervenants de la collectivit\u00e9, des linguistes, des expertes et experts en technologie et en culture, des archivistes, des sp\u00e9cialistes de la localisation et de la mondialisation et des d\u00e9fenseuses et d\u00e9fenseurs de la pr\u00e9servation de la langue, ainsi qu'avec toutes les parties prenantes et int\u00e9ress\u00e9es pour s'assurer que le corpus est repr\u00e9sentatif, complet et exact, et que les meilleurs outils et personnes peuvent atteindre nos objectifs.<\/p>\n

Le point principal est de s'assurer que ces avanc\u00e9es technologiques sont fond\u00e9es sur le contexte culturel et linguistique des collectivit\u00e9s, ce qui m\u00e8nerait \u00e0 la pr\u00e9servation et \u00e0 la modernisation de la langue tout en conservant son riche h\u00e9ritage.<\/span><\/p>\n
